What's the issue with "canon" and SNW? Honest question, I've watched every TOS and TNG episodes but I got a really bad memory and tend to forgot names, events etc.. (eg. I searched for Noonien Singh on google while watching the episode of SNW related and find out in that moment the link to Khan... :shame: )
I just get hung up on dumb little things. It's been a year or two since I watched the first two eps of SNW but I remember harrumphing at Spock rolling in bed with T'Pring. Amok Time had implied in my mind that Spock had not seen her since they were kids, hence the photo of child T'Pring. I don't know why that bugged me more than the "oh yeah by the way Spock also has a human sister" but it does.
My trick with SNW is to treat it as an alternate universe... that way I don't keep saying "but--" while I watch and I can enjoy it more. I still get hung up on the Gorn, though.

Ugh, yes, why can’t we leave the Gorn as a Kirk discovery. Sigh.
