Welcome to Star Trekking — random intersections in the final frontier.
Remember this?
Well, I met him. I actually shelled out for a photo.
My son and I walked up and I said to Bill, “You are a force of nature,” and he replied, “Yes I am.”
And they snapped this picture.
Yes, I also got him to sign my Captain of the Starship LP - he signed it with an underwhelming, illegible scrawl and I didn’t even have the presence of mind to ask him to write “To Neil” on it. D’oh.
But hey, I had my moment with Shatner.
Have you met the big guy? What was your experience?
MEANWHILE…
Coming soon, in future issues of Star Trekking, I’ll take a look at Joe Sikoryak’s comic series, When We Were Trekkies.
I’ll tell you about Star Trek’s worst bosses.
I’ll give you a deep dive into a dumb shirt.
I’ll think too much about bars in Star Trek, inspired by David Mack’s new Picard novel.
I might just do a deep dive into John Jackson Miller’s SNW novel, The High Country.
And who knows? Maybe I’ll watch the new season of Discovery.
Until next time, LLAP.
Neil
So glad you did this! And I love the photo.
Delighted to hear you got to meet him! Sounds like the experience was at least okay 🖖🏻
