Welcome to Star Trekking — random intersections in the final frontier.
This year we’ve highlighted several great (and not-so-great) Trek products and I thought it might be helpful to share a small catalog of items as gift giving season begins.
As always, if you end up buying something from Amazon after clicking a link I share, I might get a small commission.
I had fun unboxing the Trek Advent calendar from Insight Editions.
I reviewed some new Playmates products over at TrekMovie: action figures and prop replicas.
You can never go wrong with Romulan Ale from Star Trek Wines
I’m just sharing this because I liked this issue.
There is no one on your list who would not appreciate a bat’leth multitool.
If you’re ready for some inner work - or to prep for Kolinahr - I recommend the Starfleet Daily Meditation Manual.
Now that we’ve all seen Picard season three, this is a great time to preorder Joe Fordham’s new coffee table book, Picard: The Art and Making of the Series.
And any time is the right time for Warmed by Love, the great poetry collection by everyone’s favorite poet, Leonard Nimoy
And obviously you deserve some new socks. And guitar picks.
Other books new books from this year include:
And, of course, calendars.
I loved Star Trek: First Contact - The Making of the Classic Film, the big, beautiful coffee table book by Joe Fordham.
And this masterpiece.
Right now I’m reading Patrick Stewart’s memoir and I am absolutely LOVING the opening sections, diving into his theatrical career.
I’ve even picked up a couple of great tips that I’m using in the show I’m currently rehearsing.
I’ll let you guess which one is me.
Hope you have a wonderful holiday season, however and whenever you celebrate.
Neil
I loved the Picard book and I'm so happy you're reading it! What tips did you pick up? How is the meditation book? Fun? Got an example quote from it?
